A woman in Maharashtra was in for a shock when she found her 25-gram gold mangalsutra worth Rs 1.5 lakh missing. The incident took place in Sarsi village, where the woman, Geeta, took off her gold ornament before a bath. The next day, Geeta tried to find her expensive mangalsutra but was disappointed to find that the ornament was missing. Immediately suspecting theft, the farmer's wife was quick to recall her day to find possible answers. However, her recollection of memories took an unseen turn when she remembered about keeping her mangalsutra in a bowl. But the bowl was no ordinary one, as it was full of husk that was supposed to be eaten by the woman’s buffalo. After a while, the woman came to a bizarre conclusion and decided to check her theory. To her surprise, her theory turned out to be true.
The Buffalo Heist:
A day before the ornament went missing, Geeta recalled that she kept the mangalsutra in a bowl full of husk, which she later fed to her cattle. Accidentally, the buffalo ended up swallowing the 25-gram gold mangalsutra along with its food.
The Retrieval:
The family immediately took the cattle to a veterinarian. The doctor, after a sonography, confirmed the mangalsutra’s location in the buffalo’s stomach. A two-hour surgery was held to take out the gold chain. In the end, the doctor successfully took out the mangalsutra.
