People might reiterate the phrase ‘what’s in the name’ quite often, but in actuality, there is a lot in one’s name. The theory especially makes more sense when a certain type of name can end up turning the owner of the same into a joke among others. Social media is full of instances where people with names that hardly made sense to their surroundings, were either made fun of or were bullied. With that in mind, another couple recently went viral on social media, over their choice of names for their newborn. A post was shared online, where a woman shared a romantic story about her cousin meeting the love of their life over their mutual love for Kdramas in a post’s comment section. She then shared a group text where the couple gave a few options of names for their newborn.
The names would have sounded regular if the couple were in Korean. However, since it was an Indian family, the names sounded rather odd, making desis react over the same. “What should we name our boy? Kim Soo-Hyun Tripathi. Choi Seung-Hyo Tripathi. Kang Tae-Moo Tripathi,” the questionnaire read.
The post was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘divyaathedivaaa’. The post was captioned, “My cousin and his wife met while discussing Kdrama on the comment section and since then they have binge-watched all the Kdramas on Netflix. they recently had a baby and look at this.” The post was shared a few days ago and pulled 398K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “We should tell them Kim/Choi/Kang are family names, not the first name. Baaki it's their choice,” a user said. “God saves that child,” joked a second person. “Their child's social life will die before it even began,” added a third person.
“Okay so unless your cousin or his wife is Korean, this will not end well if they're planning to raise the baby in India. This is like naming your baby ′CocaCola′, it's all fun and games until bullying becomes an everyday reality for the child,” added a fourth user. “They're going to give the kid a lifetime of name-calling at school and work if they stay in India,” added another.
