It might not make sense to the rest of the world but India and desis truly believe in a Big Fat Indian wedding. In fact, the concept of saving lakhs and crores only to spend it all on one’s ‘big day’, is one of the most common reasons behind saving money in a typical Indian household. However, it seems like a Delhi couple ‘cracked the code’- that so in style- as not only did they leave netizens impressed but also seemingly looked a bit too cool doing it; online deliveries for engagement. Yes, believe it or not, but the to-be-weds chose the online food delivery app Swiggy as their trusted ‘caterers’, and reportedly ordered food in bulk for their engagement ceremony.
A post was shared on social media, where a woman shared a picture of multiple meals that were being unpacked at the venue by a Swiggy delivery agent. Not only did the post go viral after impressing the public but also received a response from Swiggy itself.
The post was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘shhuushhh_’. It read, “They ordered food online for an engagement ceremony?? Bhai I have seen everything.”

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Food delivery at its best,” a user said. “Caterers company after seeing this is speechless about the matter,” added a second person. “I don't see a problem here. Unki engagement. Unka paisa. Unki party. Unki marzi. (It’s their wedding, their money, their will),” added a third person.
“This is an insult to the guests!” added a fourth person. “Every caterer company owner right now- what is even happening,” added a fifth person. “Have faced this. Very high chances of getting such a thing in a Bengali or Odia wedding where spending money on a wedding ceremony is close to sin,” joked another.
