Viral Video: At a snack stall in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar West, a video has gone viral showing a heated moment between a customer and a calm shopkeeper. The video, shared on X by the handle 'Ghar Ke Kalesh', begins with the customer walking in and saying, 'Marathi shik re', demanding that the shopkeeper learn Marathi. When the shopkeeper replies, 'Marathi nahi aati,' the customer loses his cool. The conversation quickly turns tense as the customer warns, 'Nahi tar dhanda band kar' and even asks, 'Shutter bandh karu ka?' making it clear that he’s not just making a request, it’s a threat. Despite this, the shopkeeper stays calm and tries to explain his side, saying, 'Marathi kaise? Ek do din mein thodi Marathi aayegi.'

Even as the customer keeps making threats, the shopkeeper doesn’t raise his voice. He remains polite and composed, showing respect despite the pressure. The video has sparked a strong reaction online, with many people supporting the shopkeeper’s calm behaviour and calling out the customer’s aggressive attitude.

Language is just a bridge, why so much obsession?" "What is this behaviour, dear Maharathis? Bengaluru zyada famous hogaya hai, ab maharashtra ko famous karna hai," a second user added.

"Come to Gujarat and we will not disrespect any language. We try to connect with people by saying 'Humko Sab favta Hai'," added a third user. "It's high time that language discrimination must be treated as an offence just like the caste discrimination/ST-SC act. People can't go on creating their own rules," added a fourth user. "If you have the courage, shut down Bollywood and push it out of Maharashtra. Otherwise, you're just barking unnecessarily," a fifth user added.

"It’s okay to respect your language, but forcing others like this is not right. Let people speak what they’re comfortable with, not everything has to be a Kalesh," added another user. "Ye jo log regional language impose krte hai, jindegi me state ke bahar nhi gaye aur na ja payenge," added another user.
