Viral Video: Gone are the days when people used to call DIY ideas and other ‘jugaads’ cheap, as people have seemingly begun to understand the ‘cleverness’ behind them. Garnering praise over a similar DIY, an elderly woman was quick to win many as she, very smartly, restored her seemingly old flip flops with a slippery sole. For those unaware, footwear with worn-out or slippery soles are rather dangerous to wear, as they can lead to accidents. However, this grandma surely had no plans to give up her slippers, as she used a hot iron pin to make lines in the sole! Confused? Well, the aim behind those lines was to restore the sole’s grip.
Needless to say, the video went viral and left people impressed. Most people found the hack hilarious yet clever, while the rest expressed shock over the DIY pin not burning the woman’s hand.
The video was shared on social media platform Instagram, by the handle ‘Pubity’. The post was captioned, “This is genius.” The video was shared today and pulled more than 84K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “How tf is she holding the metal and not burning her hands I swear all old mothers can do this,” a user said. “That’s so she can get a better grip, so she can throw the Chankla,” added a second person. “Not abuelita casually welding in the kitchen, grandmas are built differently,” added a third person.
