IND vs AUS Champions Trophy Semifinal:  India finally got the breakthrough they had been craving as Varun Chakravarthy sent Travis Head packing for 39. The spinner’s introduction proved to be a game-changer, striking gold on just his second delivery. Tossing it up cleverly, he tempted Head into a lofted shot, but the Australian batter mistimed it, sending the ball straight into the safe hands of Shubman Gill, who sprinted forward for an easy grab. The Indian team erupted in celebration, knowing the magnitude of this dismissal.

But the real party kicked off online, where Indian fans wasted no time turning the moment into a meme fest. Social media flooded with hilarious reactions, as memes on Head’s wicket took over the internet, adding an extra layer of entertainment to this high-stakes semifinal clash.

India got their first breakthrough in the third over when Mohammed Shami dismissed Cooper Connolly for a duck. Varun Chakaravarthy later redeemed himself after dropping Travis Head on the second ball of his first over. Rohit Sharma’s losing streak at the toss continued, marking his 14th consecutive loss, while Australia’s captain Steve Smith won and chose to bat first. India stuck with an unchanged playing XI, retaining Varun Chakaravarthy in the squad.

The ICC Champions Trophy kicked off on February 19 and will conclude on March 9. This edition of the tournament is being co-hosted by Pakistan and the UAE. Up next, South Africa will take on New Zealand in a highly anticipated clash tomorrow, March 5.
