UK Vlogger Viral Video: While exploring India, British travel vlogger George Buckley had an unexpected experience at a local barber shop that’s now gone viral. In a recent Instagram reel, he shared how he felt overcharged for a simple haircut and head massage during his visit.
George said the barber first asked for Rs 1,800, which surprised him. When he didn’t agree right away, the price kept dropping to Rs 1,500, then Rs 1,200. Feeling unsure, he asked other customers nearby how much they usually pay, but no one responded. Finally, the barber himself admitted that the regular price was around Rs 700 to Rs 800.
Even after knowing the real cost, George still paid Rs 1,200 but chose not to leave a tip. He later posted about the incident online, and the video quickly got people talking.

The viral video was shared on Buckley's official Instagram account, 'georgebxckley.' The post was captioned, "I was going to tip, but he ruined it. After a fair bit of experience travelling in Asia, you can tell when you’re getting overcharged, and this was definitely one of those moments! I was planning on giving him a tip, but honesty comes first, hopefully,y he doesn’t try the same trick on another traveller. A slightly sour end to the haircut, but an interesting experience nonetheless!"
The video shared just a day ago received 2.1 million views from social media users. Many viewers shared mixed opinions; some supported him, while others said it’s common for tourists to be charged extra. One user wrote, "Devil’s advocate here — why not pay the man who can barely afford to live on his ₹1,800? It’s like £15-20, which is what you’d pay in the UK. Why haggle him down over £5? It makes zero difference to you and a huge difference to his life. I’d have tipped him an extra ₹1,800 instead of haggling over pennies.”
"Your fault is- you should mention the shop name and location. So that viewers can go and give those people a proper lesson. So that next time people like them don't take advantage by scamming tourists," a second user wrote. "Please be careful out there next time. I felt sorry for you getting scammed! They've charged way too much than it was!" added a third user. "Yes, you were overcharged for a basic head massage and a haircut; it should probably be somewhere around 300-400 rupees," a fourth user commented.
