Indian Couple Viral Video: What if your next road trip included a cosy picnic right beside the highway, complete with fresh-cooked food? That's exactly what's sparking buzz across India right now, thanks to a viral video of a family turning a roadside spot into their personal kitchen. The video shows the man relaxing with a child while his wife prepares the food on the road. He tells her, "Bahut saare log message aur comments kar rahe hain ki aap log road par khana bana rahe ho dhyaan bhatak jayega."
She responds, "Wo to hume bhi pata hai ki hume road par khana nahi banana chahiye, aap dekh sakte hain ye pura rest area hai aur pura main road udhar hai."
The couple admits that cooking on the highway may raise eyebrows, but they insist they are not blocking traffic or creating danger. In fact, they say this isn’t the first time they’ve done it, and they ensure to stay within the safe rest area.

Civic sense is a rare luxury in India , something not everyone seems able to afford. Take this scene for example: a family has started cooking right in the middle of road , turning the area messy. Tell me honestly, is this acceptable? pic.twitter.com/Xytjpv2DlS

The video shared on X (Formerly Twitter) by the handle '@Nalanda_index' yesterday garnered 528K views from users. The video has caught the attention of many online users, sparking conversations about how people use public spaces as their personal home and whether unconventional choices like this are acceptable when done safely.
"In India, all kinds of uncivilised nonsense are acceptable. If one starts asking questions or telling the truth, then everyone starts having issues," a user wrote. "There is a massive deficit of civic sense in the country. The assumption that public space and property can be used in any way suitable to oneself with no concern for others has to be removed right from primary education itself and be a compulsory part of the NCERT," a second user wrote.

"This lack of civic sense is one of the reasons why we will struggle to be in the category of Developed Nations," wrote a third user. "Stop treating the country like your personal kitchen. Roads are for cars, not your roadside MentalChef audition. Cooking in the middle of the road? Public road ko apna personal rasoda bana diya," added a fourth user.
