With the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 just around the corner, the excitement among the fans has reached a new level. Cricket enthusiasts have left no stone unturned in celebrating the upcoming mega even as the teams have started arriving in India. Amid all this, the team that made the most headlines was Pakistan. The neighbouring country’s cricket team started ruling social media the moment it stepped out of the airport in India. Arriving after seven long years, Babar Azam's men received a gala welcome at the airport. While most people celebrated the big arrival and the fact that the team returned after years, a Pakistani media outlet wrote about the athletes’ diet that did not include beef. Although the article focused more on the cricket team’s diet chart being planned to fulfill their nourishment with other alternatives, the article was somewhat still bound to receive some critical responses from the Indian netizens. Pointing out the same, the netizens were quick to troll the article. 

ICC Cricket World Cup will begin on October 05 and will culminate on November 19. Pakistan is scheduled to play its first match against Netherlands on October 06. 

The article was shared on the social media site X (formerly Twitter) by the handle ‘Cricket Pakistan’. The post was captioned, “With beef not available to all the 10 participating teams in India, the Pakistan team's diet chart is made up of a diverse menu to meet their daily protein requirements.”

The article was posted a few days back and has been viewed by more than a million people. The Indian netizens, as soon as the article surfaced online, trolled the viral X post. Many netizens also countered the article by listing down the basic diet that athletes usually take, which does not necessarily include beef.

Taking to the comment box, netizens shared their views on the article. “Beef is not at all necessary for your body,” a user commented. “No one in Pakistan eats beef daily,” said a second. “Who is handling this account? Can't even respect the culture of a country that indirectly taunting it and mentions it,” added a third person. “Kohli doesn't eat non veg, yet fitter than all of your team and smashes you every time in the match!! now don't say he is rich so he can buy vegan protein and you can't,” said a next.
