Viral Video: Imagine sitting on a train and watching someone eat rice and curry with their hands, not at home, but right in the middle of London’s famous Tube. That’s exactly what one Indian-origin woman did, and now the video of her meal is all over the internet. In the viral clip, the woman is seen casually sitting on a train seat, enjoying her food the traditional way, with her bare hands while talking on the phone. She seems totally comfortable and unbothered, just doing her thing like it's any other day.

The video went viral with many people supporting her, saying this is how millions of people eat across Asia with their hands, especially when it comes to rice and curry. They say it’s part of culture and nothing to be ashamed of. But others feel it’s not the right thing to do on public transport.

What started as a simple moment on a train has now turned into a viral debate, one that touches on culture, habits, and how people feel about public behaviour.

The video was first shared on TikTok and quickly made its way to other platforms. A user @RadioGenoa on X (formerly Twitter) reposted it with the dramatic caption, “RIP London,” and from there, it exploded. The video shared two days ago received 155k views from social media users.

One user wrote, "Asians and Indians eat rice and fish with their hands, so what? She's not bothering anyone except maybe the curry smell. It is rather pungent to someone not used to it. But no one around her seems to mind except the person videoing her. At least she's not running around stabbing or assaulting people, eh?" "In India, we have been eating with our bare hands for thousands of years. When you eat with your hands, you can feel the food you are eating. Eating with bare hands is natural. After all, spoons were created by humans, not by God," a second user added.

However, many users criticised her actions. "Where have those fingers been? In a civilized country, even one-year-olds are taught to eat with a fork or spoon," a user wrote. "When you immigrate, you leave your culture behind and embrace the culture of the country you are moving to," added a fourth user. "Aside from eating in public with your fingers like that... Imagine touching all those rails and ticket kiosks and handles and then just putting your fingers in your mouth," added another user.
