Viral Video: In another monkey-related incident that alarmed people about the increasing number of monkey attacks across the country, a video of yet another attack by a langur surfaced on social media. The video showed a langur attacking a young girl, in what appeared to be a residential building’s basement. The langur attacked the girl from behind and went for the victim’s leg. The gruesome incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed nearby. The monkey was quick to run away, as the girl began to scream in horror and obvious pain. The location of the matter could not be confirmed, whereas the matter took place on July 11. 

The video left people reacting, making it go viral. Most expressed concern over the seemingly increasing incidents related to monkey attacks, while the rest sympathised with the girl. Many also dubbed it a result of ‘animal cruelty’.

The video was shared on a social media platform (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘Ghar ke kalesh’. The post was captioned, “A Big Monkey attacked a girl in the basement area.” The video was shared yesterday and pulled 89K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “It’s like maybe her dad used to blow firecrackers to scare them away. So, parents who did bad karma kids have to pay,” a user said. “It's not a big monkey, it's a langur,” added a second person. “Well, finally she got spooked, and even the monkey was shaken!” added a third.

“I think monkey attacks are increasing these days,” commented a fourth user. “In India, everything wants to kill you once you step outside,” added a fifth user. “Monkey attack is everywhere now?” commented a sixth person. “He thought of her as his food. She looked and probably smelt like one of them,” commented another.
