He then turns the camera towards the bill, zooming in to reveal the jaw-dropping amount of Rs 1,70,776. Clearly frustrated and baffled, the man is heard saying, "Abhi kal hi meter lagaye hain aur ek hi din me bill aa raha hai dekho 1,70,776. Ye stithi hai agar raise bill denge to kya hoga."

His tone reflects a mix of disbelief, sarcasm, and concern over the bizarre situation. The video shared on X (Formerly Twitter) by the handle 'Ghar Ke Kalesh' yesterday garnered 85k views from people. Users were quick to react to the viral video. One user wrote, "Peechhle 3 janam ka chori kiya hua bijli ka bill ek saath bana diya yeh 'smart' meter." "Why government turning a blind eye to this issue, everyday same issue repeats in someone's house; we have heard so many similar stories. Why is nobody fixing this issue? What if minor variations are added in the bill and people never know that paying extra," a second user added. "He might have added the cost of building the house along with the bill," added a third user.

"Only in India can this happen. Where the people fear to ask questions to the appropriate authorities, and the authorities take advantage of that fear. Indians get over that Mindset that is in our DNA," a fourth user wrote. "It’s a smart meter, it identified the power thief who has been using the power grid for free for years," added a fifth user. "But now, it's his responsibility to get it sorted. Amazing how this country works," added another user.
