Microsoft Global Outage: A while ago, reports of the world possibly facing an internet outage due to the Sun were heavily floating on social media. In fact, the same remained in headlines for weeks, where people mostly dubbed it as a much-needed ‘break’, rather than a huge crisis. Regardless, nothing of the sort happened, eliminating the chances of experiencing something never seen before. However, it seems like the world still got ‘lucky’ enough to witness something on a comparatively smaller scale, but surely with a massive enough impact; Microsoft’s global outage.

Microsoft, out of the blue, went down for its users today, July 19, leaving half the world’s operations in shambles. From banking, aviation, stock markets and stores to almost anything and everything that was dependent on Microsoft’s services, came to an abrupt standstill. Amid the global chaos, there was, however, one lot that was surely rather enjoying the outage- the employees. With the outage affecting the work, most employees, especially in MNCs, had to clock out early, resulting in them making it a reason to celebrate. What people did next was something that was bound to happen- flooding of memes over the early ‘punch out’.

The issue is reportedly being investigated. As soon as the ‘giant’ went down, netizens sprinted to their social media handles to share jokes and memes and ultimately flooded the internet with their hilarious remarks. Taking to the internet, people shared their take.

“Corporate employees thanking that one person because of whom Microsoft is down,” a user said.

“Meanwhile at Microsoft headquarters,” added a second person.

“Microsoft Windows Users Right Now:” commented a third person.

“When your work laptop is absolutely fine throughout a global Microsoft outage,” wrote a fourth person.

“The Microsoft / CrowdStrike outage has taken down most airports in India. I got my first hand-written boarding pass today,” added a fifth user.
