National Mathematics Day: Happy National Mathematics Day! We know it might not be that happy of a day because many of you might be reliving the ‘traumas’ that you went through during your childhood while studying this subject, but what’s the point of dwelling in the past? Today is National Mathematics Day and for once, let’s try to enjoy the day without worrying about grades and questions that would decide your fate for the year. We found a few maths problems for you, so you can celebrate the day by solving them. The questions were compiled by ‘buzzfeed’. The best part is that you don't need to worry about passing or failing or whatever.
The questions are 5th grade questions but still DO NOT underestimate them. Take your time, and check out the mathematics questions given below. You have to solve them in a good enough amount of time. We are not keeping a timer because we don't want you to stress out and relieve your childhood fear. Have a nice time!
Here are the questions:
1 A crate contains 14 small boxes. Each small box contains 28 lemons. How many lemons are in a crate?
We know that everyone hated these problems with excessive lemons, pencils, apples, and whatnot purchases, but you're gonna go through that ‘trauma ’ again and solve this one.
2 Tom and Jerry have a total of 47 building blocks. If Tom has 5 more blocks than Jerry, how many blocks does each one have?
We know the problem sounds difficult, Hence, let's fill our equation with everyone’s favourite Tom and Jerry. Maybe it will sound a bit more interesting then.
3 Jani, Dani, and Tomi are siblings. Dani is 5 years older than Jani. Tomi is 6 years older than Dani. The sum of their ages is 31. How old is each sibling?
Oh, the one with ages. These were some of the most irritating maths problems that we all went through. Let’s go over them one more time.
4 Bea read for 1/4 as long as Leah read. Leah read for 2/5 as long as Ashanti read. Ashanti read twice as long as Sam. If Sam read for 5 hours, how long did Bea read?
Regardless of the answer, we know you are done reading but just a bit more is left. Good going, let’s not leave it half-done.
The last one is here already!
5 What's 5,655 divided by 15?
It seems easy, but might take your time. All the best!
Answers:
Okay, so now that the questions are done, let’s see if you can do them on time and get them correctly. We have also given the answers below, but check only after you are done solving the problems, in other words- no cheating. All the best and enjoy!
Let's take a look at the answers now. Here are the answers:
392 Lemons. Those are a lot of lemons for sure.
Tom has 26 blocks and Jerry has 21 blocks. Poor Jerry. He will surely give Tom hell to make the blocks equal. A new episode is coming it seems!
Jani is 5 years old, Dani is 10-year-old, and Tomi is 16-year-old. Did you get the same answers?
Bea read for 1 hour. Bea is surely not interested in reading for now, at least in comparison to others.
377. Nice, you did it! You solved all the answers.
