Some days bring unexpected twists and this year’s Children’s Day turned out to be one of them. Instead of the usual tributes to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, November 14 ended up trending for a completely different reason: the Bihar Election results. And social media didn’t waste a second turning it into a hilarious memefest.

Across X and Instagram, users joked that Nehru Ji’s birthday had been 'overshadowed' by vote counting. Many shared memes teasing Congress for its weak performance, while others laughed about how Children’s Day took a backseat because all eyes were glued to Bihar’s political drama.

This year’s Assembly Elections were conducted in two phases, on November 06 and November 11, and the big results day arrived right on November 14. Counting began at 8 AM, and by 2 PM, the numbers had already set the internet buzzing.

The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) raced ahead with 200 seats, while the Grand Alliance managed 37 seats. Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj party has struggled with 0 seats so far. With 243 seats in total, any party needs 122 seats for a simple majority. For now, Nitish Kumar stands as the NDA’s Chief Minister face, while the Grand Alliance is backing Tejashwi Yadav.

Amid all this election heat, some users reminded others why November 14 matters beyond politics. After all, it marks the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister and one of the key figures in the freedom struggle.

But this year, memes ruled the day. And just like that, social media made November 14 unforgettable for reasons nobody saw coming.
