This Japanese green tea powder has truly become a global sensation online. Recently, the trend went in a surprising direction when someone decided to mix Matcha with traditional Indian Jalebi. For many, this unusual combination was more shocking than appetising, leaving desis on social media split over the idea.

An Instagram video shows the process of making the familiar, round, crispy Jalebis, but this time with a striking green colour thanks to Matcha powder. In the clip, a person pours the batter into hot oil, carefully flipping each piece to cook it evenly. The video’s text overlay reads: “They got matcha jalebi now."

The video quickly went viral, drawing strong reactions online. Many users expressed disgust, while a few were curious to try it. However, most felt that classic Jalebi didn’t need a green twist, turning this fusion experiment into a hot topic of debate on social media.
