Seema Haider Celebrates First Karwa Chauth: The ‘protagonists’ of the cross-border love story that made major headlines a few months ago are back in the limelight as the couple celebrated their first Karwa Chauth. Pakistan’s Seema Haider, who eloped from her native country with her four kids to marry her Indian online lover, became the centre of attention for many yesterday, November 01, when the entire country celebrated the much-preached Hindu festival, Karwa Chauth. Donning a heavy, red ethnic attire, Seema posed for the cameras with her husband as the duo was being covered by the media. The video of the couple soon surfaced online and became viral, receiving an end number of reactions from people.
Seema and Sachin became a national sensation after the Pakistani woman entered India illegally with her four kids, leaving her Pakistani husband behind. The woman crossed the border via Nepal to unite with her lover, Sachin, whom she befriended online while playing the online game PUBG. The love story had been brewing since 2019 when they began to play the online game together. The couple is now married and resides in Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida.
The video was shared on the social media site X (formerly Twitter) by the user ‘Naval Kant Sinha’. The post was captioned in Hindi which roughly translates to, “People might not be worried about their own wives, but everyone is worried about whether Seema Haider's Karva Chauth happened or not.”

The video went widely viral on social media after people gave mixed reactions to it. Most netizens ‘called out’ the media for giving the couple unwanted attention and expressed their disinterest in the duo, while others blamed the couple for ‘creating their own rituals’ for the cameras. Many also made fun of the video. The post was shared today and pulled 44K views from people.
Taking to the comment section, people shared their views. “Don't lie, you wanted to see them, but you are blaming others,” a user wrote. “But you were searching for their video since morning,” added a second person. “Lappu sa Sachin to mota ho gya phele se (Sachin has gained weight),” added a third person. “They are doing all of this for TRP, why is the media still giving them attention,” said a fourth user. “Why are they making their own rituals, trying to copy Bollywood?” asked a fifth user. “Why are they still the centre of attention, we don’t want to know about them,” said a sixth user.
