Reddit Viral Post: A train journey that should have been peaceful turned into a complete nightmare for one passenger, who shared his frustrating experience on Reddit. What was supposed to be a calm ride in an AC coach on the Patalkot Express became a chaotic wedding-style celebration, and the internet is stunned. The passenger, who was travelling with his mother on a confirmed AC ticket, said that as soon as they boarded the train, their seats were already occupied by a large family. Though the group moved when asked, things quickly took a wild turn.

“There were at least 25–30 people in this group, with 8–9 kids. Looked like they were off to attend a wedding — decked up, hyped up, and turned the coach into a full-on baraat,” he wrote. According to him, the family appeared very wealthy. “This was a rich Sindhi family, not just upper-middle class — legit rich. Travelling AC, gold chains flashing, branded everything,” he added.

What started as loud talking soon became total chaos. “One girl started applying mehendi to everyone. The kids were running up and down, screaming like banshees,” he wrote. Later, they even unpacked a huge variety of food. “They had two giant cardboard boxes packed with food. I'm not exaggerating. They took out cold drinks, thandai, mangoes, oranges, bananas, pineapple, dhokla, cake, theplas, chips, sev, ice cream — you name it,” he recalled. The coach echoed with shouts like: “Jijaji, thepla lo!” “Oreo biscuits kidhar hai!” “Mehendi wali baith ja zara!”

But it didn’t stop there. Post-lunch, they brought out a speaker and began playing tambola loudly. “A full-fledged round, with someone calling numbers like it was a wedding sangeet,” he said.

Unable to bear it anymore, the user filed a complaint on Rail Madad. The railway staff showed up after the station and asked the group to lower the noise. But things got worse. “Then, just to spite us, they became louder. Started singing bhajans, playing cards, and mocking me for complaining. ‘Aur karo complaint!’”

In the end, the passenger expressed deep frustration, saying, “Educated, well-dressed, rich — but absolutely zero class or civic sense. Padhe likhe gawar in the truest sense. I used to defend Indian travelers abroad, saying, 'We're not all like that. But after this… I'm done.” His post has since gone viral, sparking debates online about public behaviour, privilege, and basic manners while travelling.

Earlier I used to defend Indians... but today I’ve lost all hope.

The post, after being shared on Reddit three days ago, received many reactions in the comment section from social media users. One user wrote, "Unfortunately, there are people who would still defend this behaviour. A few months back, there was a post in which indians were playing Punjabi songs on a German bus, dancing and singing along while it was moving on the road. There were locals in the video who were quiet and didn't complain about it. People in the comment section couldn't realise how messed up and annoying that is, having to shove your culture down someone else's throat just because they aren't revolting against you. indians do have a civic sense and discipline problem."

"When in such a situation, make a video of them and make it public. And shame them. If not using your own account, then a camouflage one," a second user added. "Educated, well-dressed, rich, but no civic sense." This is exactly how many Sindhis are, no matter from which strata of society they come from. Har jagah Gawarpan karna mandatory hai. I am myself a Sindhi, and we all know hamari tameez bhi Pakistan mein hi reh gayi like our other belongings," a third user added.

"These are not isolated experiences. They are the reality of well-adjusted Indians every single day. Just take a look at the roads, for example. Our littered streets?" added a fourth user. "Every now and then, I find a similar kind of reels on Insta. Now it feels like a trend for this kind of big family to create a nuisance," added another user. "Ye apne bachcho mei bhi yahi bhar dete hai. Entire generation is doomed," added another user.
