Pune Grandma Viral Video: Most people would scream or run if they saw a snake in their house. But 70-year-old Shakuntala Sutar from Pune did something totally unexpected: she picked it up with her bare hands and calmly wrapped it around her neck. Yes, you read that right. This fearless grandmother from Kasar Amboli village in Mulshi Taluka, Pune, has become an internet sensation after a video of her brave act went viral. The reason behind her bold move? To spread awareness and bust myths about snakes.

It all happened when a rat snake (dhaman) entered her home. Instead of panicking, Shakuntala stayed calm. She didn’t shout or call for help. With confidence and care, she caught the snake on her own and showed it to the people around. In the video, you can see her placing the snake around her neck while people watch in shock. But she had a clear message to share: “There’s no need to panic when you see a snake. Not every snake is venomous. The rat snake doesn't harm humans; in fact, it’s helpful for farms as it eats rats and pests. People often kill snakes out of fear and superstition, which is wrong.”

Shakuntala’s brave and thoughtful act has touched hearts across the country. At 70, she’s not just breaking stereotypes, she’s spreading awareness, one fearless step at a time.
