TikTok users are now discovering that a simple emoji can get their comments removed. The juice emoji, often used in references to Jewish people, is reportedly being censored on the platform. Surprisingly, TikTok marks this as a policy violation under 'alcohol, tobacco, and drugs.' Comments using the emoji are deleted and users receive warnings that repeated violations could lead to strikes on their accounts.

The move has left many scratching their heads. The juice emoji is widely used in casual conversations and its sudden ban has sparked confusion and heated discussions online. Social media users are sharing screenshots, questioning the logic and warning others to be careful when posting what seems like an innocent emoji.

Some speculate that the censorship may be linked to TikTok’s recent U.S. ownership changes. In September 2025, former U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order allowing a $14 billion deal that shifted TikTok’s U.S. operations to a consortium of American investors. This group includes Oracle, co-founded by Larry Ellison, a Jewish and pro-Israel figure. Oracle and Silver Lake now hold 80% of TikTok U.S., while ByteDance’s stake is below 20%.
