UP Viral Video: With the aim to serve ‘quick justice’ against harassment against a young girl in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut, a crowd resorted to brutal violence against the alleged culprit. A video of the same was shared on social media, which went viral. The clip showed the man getting repeated and ruthless slaps by multiple men, who held him with his hair. As soon as the matter was shared on the internet, it received a mixed reaction. Despite the incident being violent, a majority of netizens sided with the crowd and dubbed the beating ‘necessary’ to curb such cases against women, while a few had otherwise to add. The exact date and location of the incident could not be confirmed.

As the matter went viral, the UP Police also responded to it. As per the police, an investigation began over the incident, where the police assured of taking ‘necessary action’.

The video was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘priyarajputlive’. The post was captioned, “He was teasing a girl… people caught him and beat him up. The story is from Meerut.” The video was shared yesterday and pulled more than 3K views from people.

“The local police have been directed to investigate the video and take action. Necessary action will be taken after getting information soon,” the Meerut Police responded.

The video, after getting shared, pulled many reactions. Most people found the ‘justice’ served justified, while the rest chastised the man for harassing a woman. A few also suggested handing the man to the police instead of turning to violence.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “This is absolutely right. Such people should be treated like this! Because of these people, girls are afraid to go out. One more thing should be done!” a user said. “Justice served swiftly as locals confronted eve-teaser in Meerut,” added a second person.

“How dare he harass a girl! People caught him and gave him the lesson he deserved. No one should get away with such behavior!” added another person. “Standing up against harassment is necessary, but mob violence is not the answer. Let's ensure justice through law, not fists—violence solves nothing and can lead to more chaos,” commented the next person.
