USA Return Viral Video: Not everyone dreams of staying abroad forever, and Maninder Singh’s story proves just that. After working in the IT sector for over a decade, including three years in the United States, Maninder decided to leave it all behind and return to India. But instead of joining another office job, he took a bold turn, he started a street food stall in Mohali, Punjab. A video of Maninder’s journey went viral after being shared on the popular Instagram page ‘Foodler’. The video was shot by content creator Omar, who met Maninder at his stall in Mohali’s buzzing 3B2 market. In the video, Maninder even flashes his New York driving license to show he once lived in the Big Apple.
“I was in the United States for three years. My wife has 20 years of experience in cooking, so we thought of starting a food business. I help her, but she is the one who cooks,” Maninder shares in the video. The couple runs the stall together. While his wife handles the cooking, Maninder sets up the stall and serves customers. On the day of the video, their menu included home-style rajma chawal, kadhi pakoda, rotis, soya chaap, and mango lassi, all cooked with love and served with a smile.
According to the video, Maninder came back to India earlier this year after his father’s passing. “No, I wasn’t deported,” Maninder clearly states in the video, addressing the common assumption many people make when they hear someone returned from abroad.Watch The Viral Video:

The video shared three days ago received 519k views, significant comments, and likes from social media users. One user wrote, "Must be the Best and Hygienic Food. This is Real Food." "Respect to this gentleman and his wife. India really needs to let go of this old ‘babugiri’ mindset. The British kept feudalism alive here mainly to divide people and tighten their control—and unfortunately, some of that still lingers. But if we start treating every person and every kind of work with equal dignity, it can do wonders. That kind of respect can push our democracy forward and give people the confidence to take risks and truly change their lives," a second user added.
"In India, we need to get more used to doing all kinds of jobs. The stigma attached to certain kinda of jobs is very high. In the USA, everyone is open to doing every kind of job. I hope this culture becomes more common among Indians. Because moving forward in the age of AI, most computer jobs are at higher risk compared to manual labour work," added a third user. "Exactly what I wanna do in the future after I retire," a fourth user added.
"Be honest: your NY license says you drove a taxi. You mentioned call center and sales work—where's the IT experience? And no shame in your Indian business, but own the truth," a fifth user added. "Show off... New York ka driving license leke India main kyun aaya hai...wahi jaa," added another user.
