Varanasi Diaper Tree Viral Video: Imagine scrolling through Instagram and suddenly stopping in shock after watching a reel where a tree outside a nice house in Varanasi is completely covered with dozens of used, dirty diapers dangling from every branch like the weirdest decoration ever. Sounds ridiculous? I know. A popular eco-friendly influencer named Shweta Kataria posted the video that’s now blowing up online. She starts the video by showing a normal-looking two-storey home where a family with a little baby lives.
Then the camera slowly moves up the tree and there are tons of thrown-away diapers just hanging there instead of being thrown in the dustbin. The same family was even caught on camera dumping their regular garbage on an empty plot right next to their house.
Basically, they turned the street into their personal trash yard. Shweta didn’t just point fingers; she gave a super simple solution. She asked parents to switch to soft, washable cloth diapers instead of the throw-away kind. These cloths also save money in the long run, feel gentler on a baby’s skin, and most importantly, don’t choke the planet with plastic waste.

The video left thousands of people angry, amazed, and talking about one big question: how can we keep our cities clean if even our own homes look like this? The video shared a few hours ago pulled an impressive 342K views from users. "Shit!! This is what made me do a video on how diapers are so toxic for the children and planet! Can’t believe this," a user wrote.
"And the best part of using no diapers is the kid gets potty trained quickly. At 17 months, we are almost Susu and poopoo trained," a second user wrote. "Blaming the government for everything is easy but following common civic duty is very difficult for ppl," wrote a third user. "This really sucks! I cloth diapered my twins till 3 years and the only thing I regretted is that I didn't do this for my elder one. And still can’t understand why people hesitate to explore this way," added a fourth user.
"I have raised my daughter in cloth diapers only. Exceptions we're travelling, etc. & I got all kinds of lectures from people that I am wasting my time, what is the point when everyone is still using plastic diapers. Will you alone save this world, etc, etc? I had several fights to continue using cloth ones. PS: I didn't even ask anybody for help using these. How could I, when people were already against it?" added another user.
