Jaipur Viral Video: A shocking video from Jaipur has gone viral on social media, showing a retired IAS officer being assaulted by a bus conductor over a dispute regarding an extra payment of Rs 10. In the footage, the 75-year-old man can be seen being beaten by the conductor for refusing to pay the additional amount. The video was shared on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) by the handle '@NCMIndiaa.'
The video features retired IAS officer R.N. Meena, who was traveling on a bus from Jaipur to Nayla. The altercation began when the bus failed to stop at Meena's intended destination. At the next stop, the bus conductor asked Meena to pay an additional fare of Rs 10 for the extra distance. Despite repeated requests, Meena refused to pay. When the conductor persisted and turned him towards him to demand the payment again, Meena responded by slapping him. This action enraged the bus conductor, who then slapped the retired officer multiple times, escalating into a physical altercation. The entire incident was recorded by another passenger on the bus.

The post was captioned, "75-year-old Retired IAS Officer R.L. Meena Vs Bus Conductor. Reason for Dispute: Rs. 10 extra fare." In the comments section, the handle provided an update on the incident, stating, "Update: Retired IAS officer R.L. Meena has registered an FIR against the conductor, Ghanshyam Sharma, at the Kanota police station in Jaipur following the incident. The accused conductor has been suspended by Jaipur City Transport Services Limited for misconduct."
The video, shared yesterday, has already garnered 1.3 million views. Opinions on the incident are divided, with many users siding with the bus conductor, arguing that the IAS officer should have known his limits. On the other hand, some criticised the conductor’s behaviour, stating that he should not have slapped the elderly man.
Taking to the comment section, a user wrote, "I don't understand why everyone is saying the old man started it. If you see it was the conductor who first laid his hand by pushing the elder. The old man simply responded." "Those young people who have 0 tolerance for their elders despite the right and wrong. Who can’t acknowledge that things like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and narcissism a traits of the aging brain? Shouldn’t be given responsibilities." added a second user.
"Women are getting free bus services and a retired 75-year-old IAS officer who dedicated his life to this country has to fight for Rs 10," added a third user. "That conductor needs to be arrested ASAP. His job is to issue tickets, not to lay hands on people. It's a damn disgrace that a 75-year-old former IAS officer has to go through this kind of inhumane treatment on a bus. It's a national embarrassment that shows how deep corruption runs in India," a fourth user commented.
