The duo was inside captivity, whereas the incident was being recorded by visitors outside the cage. The mother lion looked visibly panicked as it tried its best to save the drowning cub, only to get little ‘retaliation’ from the ‘small’ big cat. The situation only turned relieving after the mother managed to save the cub at the end, despite all the fightback from the confused baby lion. A video of the same was shared on social media, which went viral as the internet was seemingly left with a mixed feel over the incident. The location and date of the incident could not be confirmed.

The video of the big cat has been circulating on social media ever since it was shared on the internet. Most people loved the mother’s dedication and dubbed nature ‘beautiful’, while the rest found the little one adorable. Many also expressed relief seeing the kid was saved in the end.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “No matter the species, there is nothing a mother won’t do to save her young,” a user said. “Life is short and then we all return to God. But the time we live, it's always our loved ones that try to protect us, other than ourselves,” commented a second user.
