Viral Dance Video: One of the best parts about schools, colleges and universities is getting to celebrate festive days. With the aim to do something similar, some evidently talented students at NIFT Mumbai decided to participate in the event celebrating Kerala’s one of the most hailed festivals, Onam. A video of the said students acing a beautiful dance performance to the recently released hit song ‘Aasa Kooda’ was shared online, which was quick to impress many. However, the dance reel also ended up offending a few people, where the reason was the ‘choice of the song’. For those unaware, the hit track is a Tamil song, whereas the festival is celebrated in Kerala. Pointing out the same, many were offended that a Tamil song was used for celebrating a festival celebrated in Kerala .
The song ‘Aasa Kooda’ is hitting the trends ever since it was released this year. The song is from the album ‘Aasa Kooda’ from ‘Think Indie’, sung by Sai Abhyankkar.
The dance reel, soon after getting shared, went viral and gained all kinds of reactions. Most people loved the dance and lauded the dancers and their efforts, while the rest triggered a debate over the dancers celebrating Kerala’s festival, Onam, to a Tamil song.
The video was shared on the social media platform Instagram, by the handles ‘museumofsoum’ and ‘ketakeekusurkar’. The post was captioned, “Dancing for idli (obv).” The video was shared two days ago and pulled 725K likes from people.
