Delhi Viral Video: Heritage sites are meant to be preserved with pride, but a recent video from Delhi shows just the opposite, leaving people furious online. At the centre of the outrage is Humayun’s Tomb, a 16th-century UNESCO World Heritage Site, where visitors were seen scratching names and doodles onto its walls. The video, shared on Reddit under r/IndianCivicFails, carried the caption: “They’re literally treating Humayun’s Tomb like a blackboard.” The clip shows tourists shamelessly defacing the monument, with some even climbing on each other’s shoulders just to leave their marks.

The person who recorded the video expressed disbelief, writing, “I visited Humayun’s Tomb recently, and I was shocked to see this happening. People were literally scratching their names on the walls, some even climbed on each other’s shoulders just to do it. This place is almost 500 years old and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and we’re still treating it like a school desk. I recorded this video because I honestly couldn’t believe the lack of respect.”

Humayun’s Tomb, built in the 1500s, is one of the greatest works of Mughal architecture and often called the inspiration for the Taj Mahal. Watching such disrespect at a site of this importance has deeply upset people online.

Others demanded strict punishment, with a Redditor writing, “I hope this video gets viral and a huge fine gets imposed on these people.” Some also questioned why nobody stopped the act in the moment. One comment asked, “Why don’t you just stop them instead of recording?” while another added, “I would have confronted them if I were there.”
