Old Viral Video: It’s not every day that you hear about a passenger lighting up a cigarette mid-flight, and then making an even more shocking threat. But that’s exactly what happened in an incident that’s now making waves online after an old video resurfaced. The footage shows a woman dressed in a blue burqa and sunglasses, calmly sitting by the window on an Istanbul to Cyprus flight. Out of nowhere, she pulls out a cigarette and starts smoking inside the cabin, something strictly banned on all flights. At first, she tries to be sneaky, pulling her burqa slightly to exhale smoke. But the smell quickly gives her away.

A passenger sitting ahead of her turns around in disbelief, confirming she’s really smoking. Soon after, the cabin crew stepped in, swiftly taking the cigarette from her. But instead of stopping, things spiral out of control. She grabs a lighter and tries to set the seat cover on fire. Then, she pulls out a piece of white cloth and attempts to light that too. Crew members rush to stop her, even pouring water to put out the flames, while she resists giving up her lighter.

Although the video has only recently gone viral, many users pointed out that the bizarre incident actually happened back in 2019. Even years later, the clip has left people shocked, angry, and questioning how such a dangerous situation unfolded mid-flight.
