World’s Largest Roti Prepared In Rajasthan: From the world’s largest pizza to the world’s loudest and longest burp, the Guinness Book of World Records is full of some of the most peculiar attempts. And Indians being Indians, decided to join the records with the help of one of the most preferred foods- Roti also known as Chapati. Dethroning the previous record of the world’s largest Roti, weighing 145 kg, Rajasthan recently left Gujarat behind. The new record was made during the birthday party of BJP leader Kailash Soni. The record-breaking 171 kg roti reportedly required 200 kg wheat flour, 21 bakers, 2,000 bricks, 1,000 kg coal, and an iron pan weighing 1,000 kg. The result was equally impressive, as the roti at the birthday bash reportedly measured 11.25 x 11.25 feet in size and 70 mm in width. Yes, basically, enough to break a record and fill the stomachs of many. Although the roti is reportedly the largest in terms of measurements, the formal recognition is yet to be done. The organisers have applied for the Guinness Book of World Records and the International Book of Records.

The process of making the roti was live-streamed and took hours. Coming back to the birthday boy, Soni reportedly wanted to try this instead of a cake-cutting ceremony as a show of his respect towards the traditional culture. A large number of the audience gathered to witness the record being made. The previous record was made years back in 2012.
