It started with ‘demanding landlords’, and now, it apparently has come to locals openly abusing migrants and calling them ‘beggars’- the situation in Karnataka’s Bengaluru has started taking a questionable turn and netizens are surely not liking it. Proving the above said in yet another example, a Bengaluru auto rickshaw went viral on social media, for a derogatory quote that the driver flaunted at the back of the vehicle. The quote in question was abusive to migraters working in Karnataka, which ultimately asked them to learn ‘Kannada’.

“You are in Karnataka, learn Kannada. Don’t show your attitude you fu**er. You come to beg here,” read the said quote. A picture of the same was shared on social media, which left people irked.

Most people chastised the auto driver for the rudeness, while the rest pointed out that he regardless chose to write in English, and not in Kannada. Many also recalled facing ‘racism’ in the states, while some dubbed such incidents as the reason for the future ‘downfall’ of Karnataka. A few also advocated for the auto drive.

The post was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘openletteryt’. The post read, “Earnings of this auto driver literally depends on techies who go to Bengaluru and ride his auto to reach office and he is calling them beggars. Irony! Politicians keep feeding drugs of fake pride to the poor to keep them busy.” The post was shared yesterday and pulled 162K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “But why is it written in English?” a user added. “The irony is people like you who won't talk in the regional language but want the people of that region to learn Hindi. It's like you going to their home and teaching them how to run the house,” added another.

“Now amaravati in Andhra Pradesh have a chance to completely change their city into its hub,” added another. “I have a feeling this is not going to end well for them,” wrote the fourth. “I pitty them cause they don't see the bigger picture and think that the prosperity will last even without the migrants who have made a huge contribution over the years to make Bengaluru what it is,” added next.
