In a historic move, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) renamed a metro station as ‘Pride Station’, dedicating it to the transgender community.
According to Rail Analysis, the Sector 50 metro station in Aqua Line is renamed as the ‘Pride Station’. This is the first metro station dedicated to transgender community in North India.
The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) took the initiative to rename the metro station to uplift the transgender community. This was a major step towards their empowerment.
Besides renaming, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation provided employment opportunities to the transgender community. The metro station is open to all.
