Civil Defence Drill, also known as a Mock Drill, is an exercise meant to test the government's emergency management system and prepare the general public for it.
During this exercise, real-life scenarios are created to prepare people. Some of the mock drill exercises include a complete blackout, air raid sirens, and sheltering procedures.
The Home Ministry has issued an order to conduct a nationwide Mock Drill in 244 locations all over India at 4 pm.
Stay alert by monitoring government announcements. Don't panic and keep a check on government apps, news channels, and websites.
Make a safety kit including water, flashlight, power bank, medicines, non-perishable food, and keep it at an easily accessible location.
Avoid any unnecessary movements, especially around designated mock areas. Try to keep dark curtains open, windows closed and restrict outings.
Families can discuss an emergency exit plan and practice the drill for a better execution whenever required.
