Sarabjot Singh and Manu Bhaker became India's young shooting pair who won a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the Paris Olympics 2024. Let's know about 22-year-old Sarabjot Singh.
Sarabjot hails from a small village of Ambala, Dheen, where his father Jatinder Singh works as a farmer and his mother Hardeep Kaur is a homemaker.
Sarabjot Singh did his schooling at DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh. He then trained himself under coach Abhishek Rana at the AR Shooting Academy, Ambala Cantt.
Sarabjot won a gold medal at the Junior World Championship in 2019. Along with this, he secured the Asian Games team gold and mixed team silver in 2023.
Sarabjot Singh wanted to become a footballer but later on, decided to pursue shooting when he saw children aiming at the paper with pistols.
Despite facing financial problems at home, Sarabjot convinced his parents to support his decision to choose shooting as his career.
In March 2023, Sarabjot Singh won a gold medal with a perfect 16-0 score in the first World Cup Final Match. He was the top scorer with 585 points and secured first place with a total of 253.2 points.
