We often use a web address also called a URL to locate a resource on the internet. But have you ever wondered what is its full form? Tap to know about it.
We use URLs daily to explore things on the internet but do not know their full form. URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator.
As per Tech Target, a tech website, URL or uniform resource locator is a unique identifier which helps internet browsers to locate things on the internet easily.
A URL mainly contains the name of a protocol (http or https), the domain name or IP address and the subdomain name (resource location).
The basic structure of a URL is: a protocol followed by a colon and two forward slashes, the domain name and other extra information.
Taking an example of URL, the protocol is HTTPS followed by a colon and two forward slashes and the name of domain (english.jagran.com).
