A viral response from a UK-based travel vlogger to Delhi Metro has made him say that the metro system in the Indian capital is "nicer" than the London Underground. The clip, posted from the busy Rajiv Chowk metro station, has created a storm on social media, particularly from Indian users, with many echoing the sentiment.

Alex, a British traveller and digital creator, posted a short reel titled “POV: Delhi’s metro is nicer than London Underground” on Instagram, where he can be seen wearing an Indian cricket team jersey, expressing a genuine “wow” upon entering Rajiv Chowk station. The video captures clean platforms, smooth escalators, and well-managed passenger queues. Alex posted in the caption for the video: "India's metro is niceee with it. Rajiv Chowk, Delhi." The video, which had initially been posted on his profile, had been motivated by fellow traveler @alexweldertravels and went viral within minutes with thousands of likes and comments.

Praise Pours In From UK Viewers, Indian Netizens

Social media users flooded the comments with appreciation. "Indian metros are the best," one user wrote. Another posted, "We also got some of the best airports too." Some UK-based social media users also said, "As someone who is in the UK right now, Delhi Metro is so, so, so much superior." Another commenter posted, "Finally, someone spoke the truth!" The response reflects growing pride among Indian citizens in the country’s rapidly modernising transport infrastructure, particularly when it receives positive attention from international visitors.

Interestingly, it is not an isolated case. Two months ago, another UK travel blogger, Edd Owen, left his own "honest review" of the Delhi Metro. His video also became viral, complimenting the system as clean, efficient, and economical. Edd particularly urged overseas visitors to avoid costly and auto-rickshaws and instead use the Delhi Metro, describing it as a "cost-effective and dependable option." His video pointed to the cleanliness of metro coaches and the availability of global retail chains like KFC, Adidas, and Crocs in the stations.
