US President Donald Trump on Sunday declared that Israel has accepted an “initial withdrawal line” for Gaza, a move he said was shared with Hamas as part of efforts to end the ongoing war. Trump announced that once Hamas confirms the arrangement, a ceasefire will be implemented immediately, followed by a prisoner exchange.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote: “After negotiations, Israel has agreed to the initial withdrawal line, which we have shown to and shared with Hamas. When Hamas confirms, the ceasefire will be IMMEDIATELY effective, the Hostages and Prisoner Exchange will begin, and we will create the conditions for the next phase of withdrawal, which will bring us close to the end of this 3,000 YEAR CATASTROPHE. Thank you for your attention to this matter and, STAY TUNED!”

Hamas Accuses Israel Of Continued Attacks
The statement came as Hamas accused the Israeli government of misrepresenting the scale of its military operations. The militant group alleged that Israel continued to carry out “horrific crimes and massacres” in Gaza, claiming 70 Palestinians were killed by strikes since Saturday morning. Hamas said the reported casualties “expose the false claims of the war criminal Netanyahu’s government regarding scaling back military operations against defenceless civilians.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu signalled cautious optimism. Speaking as indirect negotiations with Hamas continued in Egypt over the new US-backed peace plan, Netanyahu said he hoped to secure the release of all hostages “in the coming days.” He added that a delegation had been dispatched to Cairo to “finalise technical details,” stressing that Israel intended to keep talks within “a timeframe of a few days.”
Trump Warns Hamas Against Delays
Trump welcomed Hamas’s willingness to consider elements of the proposal but cautioned the group against delay. On Saturday, he warned that Hamas “must move quickly, or else all bets will be off.”
Earlier in the day, the White House Press Secretary reposted a video of Trump thanking Arab nations for their role in backing his proposal to end the Gaza crisis. In the clip, Trump expressed gratitude to Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan, among others, calling the day “very special” and potentially “unprecedented.”

“I look forward to having the hostages come home to their parents,” Trump said in the video. “This is a big day. We’ll see how it all turns out, but many people fought very hard for this.”
