Trump 2.0 Cabinet: President-elect Donald Trump has selected billionaire Elon Musk and businessman-turned-politician Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the newly established Department of Government Efficiency in his administration, as he finalizes his cabinet appointments for his upcoming term beginning in January 2025.

Trump on Tuesday announced that Ramaswamy and Musk will head the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which is tasked with "slashing excess regulations" and "cutting wasteful expenditures."

“Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my administration to dismantle government bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure federal agencies -- essential to the 'Save America' Movement,” he said.

Following Trump’s announcement, Ramaswamy took to X, formerly Twitter and said, “And yes, this means I’m withdrawing myself from consideration for the pending Senate appointment in Ohio. Whoever Governor DeWine appoints to JD’s seat has some big shoes to fill. I will help them however I can.”

Trump Nominates Fox News Host Pete Hegseth As Defence Secy

In a surprising move, Trump has also nominated Fox News host and military veteran,  Pete Hegseth as his choice for secretary of defence. “I am honored to announce that I have nominated Pete Hegseth to serve in my Cabinet as The Secretary of Defense. Pete has spent his entire life as a Warrior for the Troops, and the Country. Pete is tough, smart and a true believer in America First. With Pete at the helm, America's enemies are on notice - Our Military will be Great Again, and America will Never Back Down…” Trump wrote on Truth Social. 

Kash Patel Misses Out As Trump Picks Ratcliffe As CIA Director

Trump announced on Tuesday that he had chosen former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe to be the next Director of the Central Intelligence Agency. This decision came after earlier speculation that Kashyap "Kash" Patel, an Indian-origin former Republican House staffer, might be appointed to the role. However, Trump has now confirmed Ratcliffe as the new CIA chief.

Mike Waltz: National Security Advisor 

Trump announced on Tuesday that he had appointed Rep. Mike Waltz, R-Fla., a former Army Green Beret, as his national security adviser. Waltz has recently criticized China, urged NATO members to increase defence spending, and voiced support for Trump pushing for a negotiated end to the Ukraine war.

Susie Wiles: Chief Of Staff

Two days after his election victory, Trump appointed Susie Wiles as his chief of staff, making her the first woman to hold the position. This marked his first major administrative appointment.
