In a tragic incident, several Indian workers were killed after a minibus crashed into a stationary truck on Emirates Road in Dubai on Monday.
According to the report by PTI, the accident occurred after the truck, due to a fault, stopped in the middle of the road and a minibus coming from behind lost control and rammed into the truck.
"Deeply saddened by the tragic road accident in Dubai that claimed the lives of several Indian workers," the Indian Consulate in Dubai said in a post on X.

Indian Workers Among Victims
The Indian Embassy in Dubai stated that several Indians workers have been killed in the incident, along with injured people. There is no official figure for Indians involved in the incident.
“Our officials visited the hospital, met the injured Indians, and are working closely with local authorities to provide all possible assistance and support. Our heartfelt condolences and prayers are with the grieving families during this difficult time,” the embassy said in a post on X.
Cause Of Accident Under Investigation
Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said five of the nine injured suffered serious injuries, while four others were moderately injured and are under treatment.
"The bus driver, who allegedly failed to pay attention and keep a safe distance, then rammed into the truck from behind," PTI quoted Salem.
"The accident resulted in seven fatalities and nine injuries, including five serious and four moderate injuries. All injured were transported to the hospital for treatment," he added.
He also highlighted that stopping in the middle of the road is a dangerous violation that can lead to severe crashes.

"Traffic patrols regulated traffic flow, secured the site, and facilitated the access of rescue vehicles. Work teams also removed the damaged truck and bus to restore normal traffic flow," Salem said.
Dubai police also added that stopping at highways is heavily penalised and announced that any stopping at a main road comes with a AED 1,000 fine plus six traffic points and AED500 fine on disruption of traffic as per article 98.
