DOGE chief Elon Musk’s eldest child questioned her father over doing a Nazi salute in two rallies in January. Vivian Jenna Wilson has spoken out publically about her father, saying the billionaire ‘definitely did a Nazi salute’ in rallies early this year that he had taken part in and that he is part of the White House that is ‘cartoonishly evil’.
In an interview with Teen Vogue, 20-year-old Wilson said that the kind of activities her father has been involved in the federal government were ‘fu***ng cringe’. Wilson also spoke about their estranged relationship and her concern about transgender rights. It was her second media interview since she publicly disowned her father last year.
“The Nazi salute sh** was insane. Honey, we’re going to call a fig a fig, and we’re going to call a Nazi salute what it was,” Wilson said. ‘That sh** was definitely a Nazi salute.”
Wilson came to the limelight last year when her father Elon Musk spoke about her on a podcast, saying that he was ‘tricked’ into signing documents allowing Wilson to receive gender-affirming medical treatment.
“I lost my son, essentially. They call it ‘deadnaming’ for a reason. The reason they call it ‘deadnaming’ is because your son is dead,” he said. Musk added that the experience made him vow “to destroy the woke mind virus after that, and we’re making some progress.”
Wilson went to California court in 2022 to officially remove “Musk” from her name, saying in court filings she “no longer lives with or wishes to be related to her biological father in any way shape or form”.
In an interview with NBC News last year, Wilson spoke about her relationship with her estranged father. “He was cold,” she told NBC News. “He’s very quick to anger. He is uncaring and narcissistic.”
Wilson, who is currently a student in Tokyo, said that she was scared about potential restrictions on transgender healthcare. “As a trans woman, I am terrified of losing access to guaranteed medical care. If I didn’t medically transition at the age I did, I don’t know what would’ve happened,” Wilson added. She said that she felt a responsibility to advocate for transgender rights, particularly for minors seeking gender-affirming care.
Wilson appreciated her mother for supporting her gender choice and said that she “doesn’t keep up with Musk’s side of the family”. When asked about siblings, Wilson said that she actually did not know how many siblings she had.
Notably, Musk has 14 children with four different women.
