Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on the sidelines of the 51st G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Canada. Although both leaders were seen in jolly mood, sharing a good laugh and warm handshakes, the details of the talks are awaited while writing this article. Both PM Modi and Meloni are scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the summit.

PM Modi holds multiple bilaterals during G7 Summit
Earlier today, Prime Minister Modi held a series of bilateral meetings with the leaders of South Korea, Mexico, South Africa, France, Britain and Australia on the sidelines of the G7 Summit here and discussed ways to boost bilateral cooperation in several areas, including trade and economy.

PM Modi said he had a "very good meeting" with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung and the two countries seek to work together in sectors like commerce, investment, technology, green hydrogen, shipbuilding and more. The two leaders "reaffirmed their commitment to deepening India-South Korea Special Strategic Partnership by exploring new avenues for cooperation through partnerships in areas of trade & economy, critical & emerging technologies, green hydrogen, shipbuilding, culture & P2P among others,” Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on X. They also discussed regional and global issues, he said.
PM Modi also met with Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and shared perspectives on key global and regional issues, including priorities of the Global South. It was the first meeting between the two leaders. "Had a very good meeting with President Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico. Personally congratulated her on her historic electoral win, becoming the first female Mexican President in two centuries," PM Modi said on X.
PM Modi holds bilateral meeting with Macron
Prime Minister Modi also held talks with French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Canada. The prime minister also met with his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese. “Good to meet my friend, PM Albanese of Australia during the G7 Summit in Canada!” Modi said on X. He also met British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on the sidelines of the G7 Summit.
Sharing a photo of his interaction with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa on X, Modi said he was happy to interact with him. PM Modi was earlier welcomed by his Canadian counterpart Mark Carney as he arrived for the G7 Outreach Session.
