Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has unveiled new rules for the Nusk Card, a smart initiative designed to simplify and modernise the Umrah pilgrimage experience for both domestic and international pilgrims. The project, branded “Nusk Al-Umrah,” aims to centralise essential services into a single, easy-to-use card that improves safety, efficiency, and coordination across key pilgrimage sites.
According to reports from Ajel.sa, Engineer Abdul Aziz Al-Mutahmi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for Digital Transformation, said the card functions as a direct access tool for essential services. In a telephone interview with Al-Ekhbariya channel, he explained that the initiative is designed to simplify complex logistical processes and help pilgrims access critical support quickly.
The card enables access to multiple services, including transportation management for shuttle buses, enhanced crowd control in busy pilgrimage zones, streamlined bus refuelling to prevent delays, and easier access to accommodation and scheduled transfers. Additional integrated services are also provided to ensure a smoother, more organised pilgrimage experience.
Digital And Physical Versions For All Pilgrims
To ensure universal accessibility, the Ministry has introduced both digital and physical versions of the Nusk Card. Domestic pilgrims can use the card digitally through mobile devices, while international visitors are issued a printed card upon arrival in Saudi Arabia. This approach guarantees usability for pilgrims regardless of nationality or level of technological familiarity.
Nusuk Umrah Platform Simplifies Journey
Alongside the card, Saudi Arabia has launched the Nusuk Umrah digital platform, which allows pilgrims to apply for Umrah visas, book flights, hotels, and transport, and access step-by-step guidance to holy sites. Pilgrims can also browse Umrah packages from authorised service providers through the platform.
