Tensions remain high in the Middle East following Iran’s missile attack on the US-operated Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar late Monday night. Iran has launched a new military campaign titled “Operation Annunciation of Victory”, targeting US military installations in the Middle East. According to a report by Reuters, no casualties were reported, and the attack involved both short- and medium-range ballistic missiles. The Trump administration, reportedly alerted in advance via diplomatic backchannels, had anticipated the strike. Sources confirm that President Donald Trump, along with Joint Chiefs Chair Gen. Dan Caine and Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, monitored the developments from the White House Situation Room.
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said the strike was a “calibrated response,” matching the number of bombs the US dropped on Iran’s nuclear facilities during "Operation Midnight Hammer" over the weekend. While Qatar confirmed that its air defences intercepted the missiles, regional tensions surged, with several Gulf countries closing their airspace and international leaders urging restraint.
