On June 22, the Trump-led US administration launched airstrikes on Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear facilities using B-2 bombers equipped with bunker-buster bombs. President Donald Trump later claimed the operation had “completely and totally obliterated” the targeted sites.
According to US and Israeli intelligence, Iran may have relocated 400 kg of enriched uranium, enough for 10 nuclear bombs, just days before the strikes. Reports suggest the uranium was packed into small crates, transported via trucks, and moved to an undisclosed underground location. Satellite imagery supports this claim.
US Officials Admit They Don’t Know Where It Is
Shortly after the operation, Vice President JD Vance and other senior officials acknowledged that the whereabouts of the uranium remain unknown, sparking international concern over Iran’s remaining nuclear capabilities.

On June 13, Israel launched its own strikes on Iranian nuclear sites in an operation named Rising Lion. The mission targeted senior Iranian military leaders and was considered one of the most aggressive actions since Iran’s war with Iraq in the 1980s. Iran responded with missile attacks on Israeli positions.
Iran Vows To Continue Nuclear Programme
Despite the twin strikes, Iran remains defiant. Mohammad Eslami, head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organisation, confirmed that the country’s nuclear programme would continue uninterrupted. He revealed that plans were in place before the strikes to maintain enrichment operations and that damage assessments were ongoing.

Eslami, a close adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, declared: “The game is not over.” He added that Iran still possesses stocks of enriched uranium and is prepared to restart operations at the damaged facilities quickly.
The mystery of the missing uranium, coupled with Iran’s unwavering stance, has intensified global tensions.
