Iran War 2026: The US forces on Friday successfully rescued one of two crew members of the American fighter jet that was reportedly shot down over Iran, reported Israeli media and CBS News. The report further suggested that the search for the second crew was underway and Israel has halted the attacks to assist the US forces. Iran's Tasnim News Agency also stated that a US UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter was struck in Iraqi airspace reportedly during the search operation. While the White House has not addressed the issue yet, the US media, while citing officials, confirmed the loss on Friday.
As per the reports, the pilots successfully managed to eject themselves ahead of the explosion. It further stated that the US forces detected one of them on the Iranian territory and rescued him; however, the search for the other pilot was still underway. Earlier, three US officials confirmed the news reports of fall of the US fighter jet, reported CNN.
The Iranian media also asserted that its military forces have launched a search operation to detect the US pilot. While addressing the residents, an anchor on the channel announced that those handing over the pilot to the Iranian forces will be rewarded.

"Military forces have launched a search operation to find the American fighter pilot who was hit earlier today. Dear and honourable people of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, if you capture the enemy pilot or pilots alive and hand them over to the police and military forces, you will receive a valuable reward and bonus," he asserted.
Apart from this, a local Iranian media also reported that one of the pilots was captured by the IRGC following the explosion. The local media claimed that the pilot was captured by the Iranian forces, reported Turkey Today. The investigation also revealed that the US was using Black Hawk helicopters, a Hercules 130, and reconnaissance drones to track the pilot, reported Tasnim.

Earlier in its statement, the IRGC claimed that it shot down another US Ffighter jet allegedly by using a new advanced air defense system. In a separate statement, Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters Spokesman said that the pilot was unlikely to survive due to the massive explosion during the crash.
