Israel-Hamas War: The conflict between Israel and Palestine, has claimed more than 4,500 lives on both sides so far. As the war rages, over 500 people were killed in a recent explosion at a hospital in Gaza. The Gaza Strip has been under constant bombardment as part of Israel's counteroffensive in response to Hamas' October 7 assault in Israeli territory in which over 1,400 people were killed and nearly 200 others were abducted.

Israel has pledged to fully destroy the Gaza base Hamas after the militant group stormed the border and killed tens of thousands of civilians on a rampage across southern Israeli communities on October 7. Since then Israel has flattened parts of densely urbanised Gaza with air strikes, uprooted over half of its 2.3 million population from their homes, and imposed a total blockade on the enclave, cutting off access to food, fuel, and medical supplies.

- The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday that limited humanitarian aid would be allowed into Gaza from Egypt following a request from Biden, the Associated Press reported.
- US President Joe Biden expressed support for Israel and claimed that a tragic explosion at a Gaza hospital seemed to have been caused by a rocket misfired by militants
- The United States has imposed fresh sanctions on people and organisations based in Iran, Hong Kong, China, and Venezuela for supporting Iran's ballistic missile and drone programmes, according to the Treasury Department.
- Joe Biden, who visited war-torn Israel on Wednesday, announced financial aid worth USD 100 million for the Palestinian territories of Gaza and the West Bank amid the ongoing armed conflict between Israel and Hamas.
- Biden met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and held a joint press conference with him on the latest escalation of hostilities in the Middle East.

- "I was deeply sad by the explosion at the hospital in Gaza yesterday. Based on what I have seen, it appears as though it was done by the other team, not you (Netanyahu). But there are a lot of people out there, not sure," Biden said at a joint press conference in Tel Aviv.
- After Biden reiterated Benjamin Netanyahu's views on the attack on the Gaza Hospital, the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas stated that the United States was 'blindly biassed' in favour of Israel, according to news agency Reuters.
- Israeli PM Netanyahu said, "While Israel seeks to minimise civilian casualties, Hamas seeks to maximise civilian casualties. Hamas wants to kill as many Israelis as possible and has no regard whatsoever for Palestinian lives. Every day they perpetrate a double war crime - targetting our civilians while hiding behind their civilians."

- The Freah explosion at Gaza Hospital which claimed over 500 lives has sparked another row as war between Israel and the Hamas group continues. Responding to the deadliest attack at a hospital in war-torn Gaza, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences over the loss of lives and said accountability for the attack should be ensured.
- Deeply shocked at the tragic loss of lives at the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza. Our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, and prayers for speedy recovery of those injured. Civilian casualties in the ongoing conflict are a matter of serious and continuing concern. Those involved should be held responsible," PM Modi wrote on X.
