Israel Attacks Syria Airport: Amid the ongoing tensions between Israel and Palestine, Israel on Thursday targeted two main airports in Syria, news agency AFP reported, citing Syrian state televison. "Israeli aggression targets Damascus and Aleppo airports," state television reported on the messaging app Telegram, without providing additional details, as quoted by AFP.

The airports attacked, according to reports, are in the capital Damascus and the northern city of Aleppo. Local media channel Sham FM said Syrian air defences were launched in response to both attacks. It said here had been damage but no casualties at the Aleppo airport, but did not give any information on the impact of the strike on Damascus Airport.

The attacks by Israel have repeatedly caused the grounding of flights at the airports in Aleppo and the capital Damascus, both of which are controlled by the government of war-torn Syria. The latest strikes came as Hamas and Israel traded heavy fire for a sixth day after hundreds of Hamas gunmen stormed across the Gaza border into Israel on Saturday.

The strike also came as US Secretary of State ntony Blinken visited Israel, and hours after the Iran President Ebrahim Raisi, in a telephone call with his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad, called on Arab and Islamic countries to cooperate in confronting Israel.
