Trump highlighted Israel’s military successes and emphasised that the country had achieved all possible victories by force. “Israel, with our help, has won all that they can by force of arms. Now it is time to translate these victories into the ultimate prize, peace and prosperity for the entire Middle East,” he said. He urged Israel and the broader region to seize this moment to build lasting harmony.

During his address, however, Trump was briefly heckled by a left-wing Knesset member, highlighting the ongoing political divisions within Israel.

US President Donald Trump on Monday addressed the Israeli Knesset, calling it a “historic dawn of a new Middle East” following the release of all Israeli hostages. Speaking alongside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump praised the Israeli leader, saying he is “not the easiest guy to deal with, but that is what makes him great.”

He added, “Today, the Jewish calendar marks the end of two years of war.” The ceasefire started on Friday and included the exchange of Palestinian prisoners for hostages. The later stages of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire are still being worked out, however.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to attend the Sharm el-Sheikh summit in Egypt later today, according to Egypt’s presidential spokesperson.

Israeli media report that a second group of 13 hostages has been handed over to the Red Cross in southern Gaza and is now on its way back to Israel.

The Israeli military said the Red Cross is en route to southern Gaza to take custody of the second group of living hostages held by Hamas. Earlier, seven hostages were released and returned to Israel.

French President Emmanuel Macron expressed solidarity with Israeli families as Hamas handed over the first group of seven hostages to the Red Cross. He said the releases mark a step toward peace for Israel, Gaza, and the wider region, adding that France will actively participate in President Trump’s peace plan alongside Arab partners.,

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog welcomed Donald Trump at the airport, accompanied by his family members, Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, and US Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff.

The seven returning hostages, Eitan Mor, Alon Ohel, Ziv Berman, Gali Berman, Guy Gilboa-Dalal, Omri Miran, and Matan Angrest, crossed into Israel, accompanied by IDF and ISA forces and are en route to a reception point in southern Israel to reunite with their families. The IDF is ready for additional hostage transfers from the Red Cross.
