Israel-Iran Conflict: The prevailing situation in the Middle East evolved rapidly on Tuesday when Iran launched a missile strike that had already been anticipated by Israel and the US. Alarms sounded across Israel and explosions could be heard in Jerusalem and the Jordan River valley after Israelis piled into bomb shelters.
Missiles were also seen flying over Tel Aviv, with some of the projectiles being intercepted by Israel's Iron Dome missile defence system. Eventually, the Israeli military sounded the all-clear and said civilians were free to leave their shelters. Military spokesman Daniel Hagari said the military was not aware of any injuries resulting from the Iranian missile attacks.
