Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday strongly condemned the deadly blast near Delhi’s Red Fort that claimed 13 lives and injured at least 20 others. In a message of solidarity, Netanyahu said that while terrorism may target cities, it cannot break the spirit of nations that stand united against hate.
“To our dear friend Narendra Modi and to the brave people of India, Sara and I, and the people of Israel, send our deepest condolences to the families of the victims. Israel stands strong with you in sorrow and in strength in this time,” Netanyahu wrote on X.
He added, “India and Israel are ancient civilisations that stand on eternal truths. Terror may strike our cities, but it will never shake our souls. The light of our nations will outshine the darkness of our enemies.”

Global Leaders Condemn Attack, Express Solidarity
The Delhi blast, which occurred on Monday evening near the Red Fort traffic signal, has drawn widespread condemnation from across the world. Leaders from Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, France, Argentina, Malaysia, and China joined Israel in extending condolences to the victims’ families and expressing solidarity with India’s fight against terrorism.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after returning from his Bhutan visit, went straight to LNJP Hospital to meet survivors of the explosion. “Went to LNJP Hospital and met those injured during the blast in Delhi. Praying for everyone’s quick recovery. Those behind the conspiracy will be brought to justice,” he posted on X. Earlier, addressing media in Bhutan, PM Modi had stated, “The conspirators behind this will not be spared. Our agencies will get to the bottom of this conspiracy.”
Blast Investigation Underway
According to Delhi Police and fire officials, a car explosion near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort metro station triggered a massive fire, damaging several nearby vehicles. Following the explosion, the Ministry of Home Affairs has handed over the case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Home Minister Amit Shah chaired multiple review meetings and directed officials to “hunt down each and every culprit.”
Preliminary investigations have hinted that the attack may have been a suicide attack (fidayeen attack), and could also be linked to the terror module busted earlier on Monday in Haryana's Faridabad.
As investigations continue, India’s allies have reiterated their firm support, emphasising that terrorism anywhere is a threat to peace everywhere, and that the resolve to combat it remains stronger than ever.
