Israel-US-Iran War: Amid the ongoing war with Iran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he teamed up with US President Donald Trump to attack Iran to prevent Tehran from obtaining nuclear weapons. While describing Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as "unreformable", the Israeli prime minister asserted that the regime was building nuclear weapon sites. In a TV interview, Netanyahu further stated that Iran had fast-tracked the construction of new nuclear facilities, adding that the situation could have gone out of control.

'Iran Wanted To Destroy America'

Netanyahu, in an interview with Fox News, alleged that Iran was building underground bunkers probably to shield its nuclear programme. He further stated that these facilities could not have been touched within a few months, adding that Iran had the goal of "destroying America". The Israeli prime minister stated that Tehran continued its programme even after repeated warnings.

"The reason that we had to act now is because they (Iran) were…after we hit their nuclear sites and their ballistic missiles programme, you think they’d learn a lesson. But they didn’t because they are unreformable; they are totally fanatic about this… about the goal of destroying America," Netanyahu asserted.

While justifying the timing of the attack, Netanyahu stated that Iran could have threatened Israel, America, and its neighbouring nations in a few months. Along with Netanyahu, US President Donald Trump also asserted that the latest rounds of attacks were conducted to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

Apart from this, International Atomic Energy Agency chief Rafael Grossi stated that there was no evidence of an attack on the Iranian nuclear facilities in the latest attack. "We have no indication that any of the nuclear installations, including the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, the Tehran Research Reactor, or other nuclear fuel cycle facilities, have been damaged or hit," he asserted.
